My latest retail boutique in Portland Maine's historic waterfront Old Port District

I am so excited to be back in my element! I opened Motifs 9 years ago in Portland, Maine's Old Port. After several years, I decided to take a sabbatical from retail, having been in the business since 1981. I became a Real Estate agent and created a successful Home Staging business. It was through the Home Staging business that I realized how difficult it was to find affordable home accent pieces. I also became aware of how much I missed creating and styling an eclectic mix of hand-picked goods in a retail space of my creation.
I searched for the perfect location to reopen Motifs. When I found 97 Exchange St., in downtown Portland, Maine, I knew I could transform this historic space into my own fabulous boutique.

Motifs' shelves are filled with distinctive and affordable home accents, such as pillows, glasswear, storage containers, clocks, and decorative signs and hooks. We carry gifts for the special people in your life, including jewelry (necklaces, bracelets, and rings), watches, scarves, books, Maine products, and an extensive array of greeting cards. Lastly, I want to share with you the reason for the Fleur De Lis as my logo. My family tree originated in France. I am French Canadian by birth. I grew up on the Canadian border in northern Maine. I am proud of my heritage and wanted to honor it with the use of the Fleur De Lis. Stop by Motifs to get a little bit of the French style for yourself!
